This campground loop is open year round. The gate into the Fort Pickens Area closes at 8 p.m. in the summer, and 6 p.m. in the winter. Campground Registration is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Check-in is after 2 p.m. and check out is 11 a.m….Fort Pickens Campground.

How much does it cost to stay at Fort Pickens Campground?
Gulf Islands National Seashore will also establish a tent-only section in the Fort Pickens Campground. Nightly fees for the section will remain at the current rate of $26 per night. RV campsites with hookups at the Fort Pickens Campground will increase to $40 per night.

The sand dunes between the Fort Pickens Road and the Gulf of Mexico have been eroded due to recent weather events. These conditions make the road highly susceptible to flooding and damage from nominal weather events. To provide for the safety of visitors, the Fort Pickens area will remain closed until further notice.
