A major road and rail junction, Narbonne specializes in the trade of Aude wines. A uranium processing plant was built just outside the town in 1959. Other industries are mainly connected with wine production (fertilizers, packaging, and agricultural machinery).

Is Pezenas worth visiting?
Pezenas has a nice attractive old town, unspoiled by modern development, with narrow streets to explore as well as some grand 17th century houses. Its town centre was one of the first in France to be protected as an historic monument. Look out for the magnificent detail as you amble through the lanes.

Is Pezenas a nice place to live?
Pezenas has always been a wealthy town and the many mansion houses in the historic centre of the town help make it unquestionably the prettiest town in the South of France. We absolutely love visiting Pezenas. In the centre of the town there are some beautiful old streets unchanged over the last 5 centuries.

Not only is it a wonderful city, but it is the entry point to some of the most beautiful French countryside, cities and culture, including the Canal du Midi. Surprisingly, for most, it is also not far from the French Riviera. And, despite its lack of notoriety, there are many great things to see and do in Narbonne.
