Twelve sorority houses are located on the west side of Newman Lake. Students in sorority and fraternity housing are assigned to double rooms with a community bath located on each floor.

We are a heavy drinking and party school even though the campus is dry. Yes, the alcohol is mostly free at parties and the parties always rock. We do have a buch of social fraternities and sororities but we have so many more devoted to business, particular majors, music, and service.

JMU’s FROGS are a group of student volunteers, also known as the First-yeaR Orientation GuideS. The Madison FROGS are supervised by uppperclass Orientation Program Assistants, who assist Steve Grande, director of JMU’s 1787 Orientation and First Year Program.

1201 Greek Row Greek Row is a series of attached units completed in 1978 and originally built for fraternity and sorority housing. The facility was expanded in 1987, and includes the “tree” residence halls.
