Does LXDE use Qt?
LXDE is moving toward Qt in 2013 and tries to co-operate with Razor-qt, another lightweight desktop environment.
What is LXDE LXQt?
LXQt is a free and open source lightweight desktop environment. It was formed from the merger of the LXDE and Razor-qt projects.
How good is LXQt?
Performance. Performance on LXQt, just as on LXDE, is excellent. It’s incredibly light on resources, using just 340 MB RAM and less than 1% CPU usage. However, more so than just being light, it feels light.
How do I install LXQt or LXDE as a default desktop?
You may find LXQt or LXDE included your distribution’s software repository, or you can download and install a distribution that ships LXQt or LXDE as a default desktop. Before you do, though, be aware that an LX* desktop is meant to provide a full desktop experience, so many applications are installed along with the desktop.

Can LXDE be installed on Ubuntu?
I’ve successfully installed LXDE (not LXQT) on an upgraded Ubuntu distribution that began as the Lubuntu 18.04 Alternative iso’s command line option system (18.04 to 20.04 – Alternative Iso Page For Limited RAM Systems) This is my family’s preference for our limited RAM machines.
Where can I find all the released releases of LXQt?
Please go to LXQt GitHub organization and click on each individual component, then on releases. You can find all published releases there. For example: lxqt/libfm-qt/releases lists you all the releases for libfm-qt. You can download libfm-qt-VERSION.tar.xz and libfm-qt-VERSION.tar.xz.asc which you usually found on our website directly from there.
