I resolved it by doing the following:
- Press the button and fold the mirrors.
- Manually move the affected mirror to the deployed position.
- Press the button and unfold the mirrors (the affected mirror will move fully forwards)
- Manually move the affected mirror to the folded position.
- Press the button and fold the mirrors.
Can you fold BMW mirrors manually?
Yes, but if you have to consciously press the button for additional time to fold them in, then it means you can leave them unfolded if you foresee frost/ice overnight, meaning they won’t be forced to unfold in the morning. Coding, like I have will see them fold as soon as the car is locked, regardless.
