What is the difference between a sluice and a Highbanker?
A power sluice, also called a highbanker, is a piece of equipment that uses a pump to force water through a sluice to mimic the natural flow of a stream.
What is a high banker?
A high banker is a device attached to the top of sluice boxes or dredges; designed to allow the easy deposit and filtration of large amounts of source material. Top Loading Hopper – The main body of the high banker containing a grizzle, and sprayer nozzles.
How does a gold Highbanker work?
The basic function of a highbanker is much the same, except rather than a sluice that is placed directly in the waterway; they are placed above the water near the source of material that you will be digging. Then a pump is used to force water over the riffles of the sluice box.
What angle should a sluice box be?
between 5 – 7 degrees
When setting up a sluice the proper angle must be observed. It’s usually between 5 – 7 degrees of slope and should allow most round rocks and pebbles to pass through easily. You don’t want the material zipping through but rather kind of tumbling through slowly.

What is the A52 made of?
The A52 is constructed out of high quality .063” aluminum. This sluice box is lined with a custom made, double ribbed carpet covered by layer of expanded zinc platted steel. Equipped with a 25” long riffle board with multiple riffle designs to accommodate high and low water flows and provide optimum fine gold recovery.
