Can anyone use NCSU library?
The public is welcome to visit our Libraries and conduct research, read, scan (free), and/or photocopy ($0.10 B/W) our materials. Information for visitors, including maps and hours are linked from here.
Can you eat in the library NCSU?
NC State University Libraries allows food and covered beverages in most library spaces, with the exception of the Special Collections Reading room, and some of our technology spaces. Please respect signage indicating areas where food or drink are not allowed.
Can NC State alumni use the library?
Alumni are more than welcome to access the library for research purposes. You can use any of our print resources in the library, make photocopies, take notes, etc.
How do I check out a book at NCSU library?
Library, you can check out books at the Ask Us Service Center on the second floor of the building. Books may also be checked out from any of the three branch libraries. In all cases use your NCSU ID or borrower’s card. See the Libraries’ Borrowing and Privileges Guide.
Can you use university libraries?
The University of London Access Agreement provides reference access to institutional libraries within the University of London. You will find a list of participating institutions here. Libraries may have different access arrangements, so please check with the library you intend to visit before travelling.
How many books does NC State have?
The NC State University Libraries has more than 4.5 million volumes. Over 1.5 million of those volumes are currently stored in the bookBot at the James B. Hunt Jr.
Can university students access other university libraries?
You can make use of other university libraries through SCONUL Access. SCONUL Access is a scheme that allows many university students and academic staff to use or borrow books and journals at other participating libraries.

Can UCL alumni use the library?
We allow UCL alumni and qualifying visitors to visit our libraries. All applicants must complete an online registration form and have received an email confirming their Library membership before arriving at the Library to collect a library card.
Are you allowed to study in library?
The British Library The library, which is a short walk from King’s Cross, is free to enter; a reader pass is available for students and members of the public over the age of 18 via online pre-registration.
