The Thief of Always is about a boy who is very bored one day and a guy flies into his window and promises him adventure. Seems legit, right? Right. Of course, the kid questions a few things along the way but there’s an answer for all of his questions and he has friends to play with.
Is the Thief of always Clive Barker’s Best Book?
To me The Thief of Always is Clive Barker at his absolute best. It comes very close to beating The Hellbound Heart and that’s saying something because that book is one of my all time favourite novels. And this one comes pretty damn fucking close!

The Thief of Always has taught me to not wish my days away and to live in the present. I also need to appreciate what I have because things can be there one minute and gone the next. I would highly recommend this book to people of all ages. Clive Barker is an amazing storyteller who make you feel so many different emotions.
How does Harvey grow throughout the tale of the thief?
Harvey grows significantly throughout the tale of the Thief. At first, he loves being away from home, but it’s like someone always said, ‘Once you notice one bad thing, you start seeing them all.” And that’s exactly what happened. Things started getting iffy, and Harvey started sniffin’ around, like ANY MAIN CHARACTER WITH A BRAIN SHOULD.
