What is TTB labeling?
TTB provides you with the most up-to-date information for the production, handling, processing, labeling, and marketing of products labeled with organic claims. TTB periodically reviews labeling and advertising claims by taking samples of alcohol beverage products for validation purposes.
What is required on alcohol labels?
All alcoholic beverages containing more than 1.1% of alcohol by volume must declare the percentage of alcohol in the product. The percentage of alcohol in the beverage must be declared as x% by volume or abbreviated as x% a|c/ vol. The declaration has to be shown on the principal display panel.
What information has to be on a wine label?
By law, bottles of United States wine must be marked with a brand name, wine type, alcohol content, bottle volume, sulfite content, and the producer’s name and address.

What percentage of your wine must be legally classified as reserve in order for you to label it a reserve wine?

In order for a member winery to call a wine “reserve,” it means only 3,000 cases or 10 percent (whichever is greater) of a winery’s production can be labeled as such. These wines must be designated by the winemaker as higher quality (and higher priced).
Is vintage required on a wine label?
The vintage date is not required to appear on the label. However, the presence of a vintage date requires an appellation of origin. May only appear on grape wine. Is usually displayed on the brand label along with the class and type designation and brand name.
Does alcohol content have to be labeled?
A statement of alcohol content is optional unless it is required by or prohibited by State law. Unless that same State law says something different, alcohol content must be expressed in percent by volume. These terms can also be used to describe malt beverages on labeling: Low alcohol less than 2.5% alcohol by volume.
What is the minimum percentage of alcohol required for the alcohol volume to be stated on the label?

Beverages with an alcoholic strength of 1.2% volume or less must be labelled in the same way as other foods; as such, the product will need to bear an ingredients list and a nutrition declaration.
How do you tell if a wine is dry by the label?
When reading a tech sheet:
- Below 1% sweetness, wines are considered dry.
- Above 3% sweetness, wines taste “off-dry,” or semi-sweet.
- Wines above 5% sweetness are noticeably sweet!
- Dessert wines start at around 7–9% sweetness.
- By the way, 1% sweetness is equal to 10 g/L residual sugar (RS).
