What is the difference between BioThane and beta BioThane?
Differences between materials: BioThane is nylon webbing covered with thermoplastic polyurethane (looks shiny). Beta BioThane (sometimes just called “Beta”) is a newer version of BioThane that uses a softer vinyl coating. Both BioThanes offer durability, abrasion resistance, and flexibility even in cold temperatures.
What is an endurance bridle?
The Deluxe Endurance Bridle is a two part model that offers the option to quickly remove the brow and cheeks (bridle part), while leaving the halter part in place. This is done by simply releasing the snaps on the browband. All fittings are stainless steel.
Is BioThane lighter than leather?
Your horse will appreciate the fact that Beta Biothane is more comfortable than leather. Since it does not absorb moisture or sweat it is less likely to rub or irritate your horse. The web coating also serves as padding and is much more comfortable for your horse. It is also lighter than leather.

How strong is biothane? Biothane is incredibly strong. The 3/8” width has a tested break strength of 375 lbs, the 1/2” width has a break strength of 500 lbs, and the 3/4″ width has a break strength of 750 lbs.

Our Beta Class coatings melt at 290-310°F and our Super Grip melts at 260-300°F. The polyester webbing we use does not melt until 440-460°F. Some customers want to melt the webbing to obtain their seal. To accomplish this they have to heat the web and coating above 460°F and this can be hazardous.
