My only real “complaints” are that the nose light is inaccurate, since all Amtrak P42’s (with the exception of a select few) have a round nose headlight instead of a home-plate nose light. I assume that Jointed Rail is aware of this since all of their Amtrak heritage units have the round headlight modeled onto them.

Is the P42 a good engine?
i think the P42 is very nice, but the horn sound is the one from the Freeware P32-8BWH Amtrak. and also, I think the other paints should come with this one in a pack, not have to buy every other engine that I could paint my own one of very easily. if you ask me, I would give it a 8/10 rating. ( aka 4=Quality 4=Price 5=Value. )
What do you think about the P42DC?
Best P42DC to date for Trainz. The weathering seems a tad incongruent with prototype (Seems like there should be more black-ish dirt around the top to my eye), but hey, it actually HAS weathered skins! Which is awesome just in and of itself. Entirely happy with my purchase
