fan should be blowing towards the exhaust (or pointed to the back of the case). so it should go [rear exhaust] [heatsink] [<—fan blowing this way]. The side with the shiny CM sticker is the intake side. so put the side with the plastic pieces that holds the shroud together next to the heatsink.

Is the hyper 212 Evo compatible with AM4 motherboards?
Due to the socket size and cooler mounting holes change on AMD AM4 motherboards, there will be a limited number of CPU compatible coolers at launch. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO has a compatibility bracket available (AM4 SOCKET MOUNTING KIT Gen1 – SKU 246918) which will be free with purchase of the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.
