Is R407C hazardous?
INHALATION: R-407C is low in acute toxicity in animals. When oxygen levels in air are reduced to 12-14% by displacement, symptoms of asphyxiation, loss of coordination, increased pulse rate and deeper respiration will occur. At high levels, cardiac arrhythmia may occur.
What class is R407C refrigerant?
R-407C is a non-azeotropic mixed refrigerant composed of the three ingredients R-32, R-125, and R-134a, and was developed as a substitute refrigerant for R-22, used in applications such as air conditioning equipment and chiller equipment for medium temperature ranges.
Does R407C contain chlorine?
R407C is a ternary blend of hydro fluorocarbon or HFC compounds, comprising 23% of R32, 25% of R125 and 52% of R134a. It has no chlorine content, no ozone depletion potential, and only a modest direct global warming potential.
What type of refrigerant does 407C replace?
Freon™ 407C has been a popular R-22 replacement because of its properties, which include: Similar cooling capacity, energy efficiency, and pressures as R-22 in systems.
Is R-407C heavier than air?
Chemical Identifiers Refrigerant Gas R407C is a colorless odorless gas. It is shipped as a liquid under its own vapor pressure. It is non-combustible. The vapors are heavier than air and can cause asphyxiation.
What is the boiling point of R-407C?
-43.6

Can I still use R407C?
There are currently no restrictions on equipment or use of the following refrigerants: R134A, R407C, R410A, and R417A.
Is R407C banned?
As there is no usage ban for this group of refrigerants, installations running on R134a, R407C, R407F and R410A may still be refilled after 2030.
Is R407C more efficient than R22?
The R407C compressor shows exergy efficiency higher than the R22 one due to its better isoentropic efficiency. R22 condenser exergy efficiency is higher than the efficiency ofR407C. Exergy efficiency of the R22 expansion valve is much higher than exergy efficiency of the R407C expansion valve.
What happens if you mix R22 and 407C?
If you mix R407C with R22 inside your system the molecule of the HFC (R407C) gas will not link with the oil and in just few months of operation you will have a “sludge” like lubricant formation inside the circuit.
Can you still use R407C refrigerant?
A number of common refrigerants, including R134a, R410A and R407C, will be banned from use in new chillers in the USA from January 1, 2024.
IS 407C a HCFC?
Genetron 407C and Genetron 422D are HFC-based refrigerants that normally utilize synthetic lubricants. The mass flow differences as well as the slightly different operating pressures should be evaluated.
