Can you kitesurf on land?
Kite Landboarding is one of many great routes into kitesports. As soon as you can fly a trainer kite, you can learn to ride a landboard. You can quickly master the basics and develop your skills to a huge range of tricks. To get started, all you need is a power kite, a mountain board and some protective gear.
What can you do with a power kite?
Power kites are generally used in conjunction with a vehicle or board, such as in:
- kitesurfing on a kiteboard.
- kite buggying on a purpose-built 3-wheeled cart.
- kite landboarding on an all-terrain/mountain/land board.
- kite skating on all-terrain roller skates.
- kiteboating, on a boat.
- snowkiting on skis or snowboards.
Can you fly with a power kite?
They tend to be powered up all of the time and only generally fly in a forward direction. Four lines enable more control and are best suited for traction activities such as buggying, landboarding or snowkiting. The top lines are the power lines. By using these it is possible to fly and steer the kite.
Can you kite surf on a lake?
