Am I a hypocrite for trying to write an essay about Los Angeles needs greenspace?
Since most of my classmates will write air pollution, I want to write about green space. Although I visit Los Angeles only every three months, what are some of the main points I have to include.
Since you mentioned air pollution, plants produce oxygen. Earth life can always use more clean oxygen. Also, the other commenter correctly stated that Southern California is a desert, albeit a desert near the ocean, so temperatures get pretty hot especially in the city where the heat just seems to radiate off the buildings and concrete making it even hotter. You need plants to absorb some of the heat which will reduce the overall temperature, making it easier for other plants and animals to thrive. Even though it is a desert and we are in a perpetual drought here, there are plenty of California-native and drought-resistant plants that require little watering.
