The biggest issue with 2zz engines were the early engines had a problem with their oil pumps so see if it has a new engine or a new pump. As far as reliability, make sure they have had regular oil changes because it has a timing chain and it’s really expensive to fix if it ran without regular oil changes.

Has never let me down, 3rd GSXR (600, 750, 750) in 4 years and 40K miles, all have been 100% reliable. Quality is basic, not a sex machine, but not a dog either….

When it came out, theSuzuki GSX-R600 was cheaper than a Yamaha R6 , Honda CBR600FS, Triumph TT600 and Kawasaki ZX-6R. That, combined with it’s awesome, racy looks and top performance made it a huge seller.
Do Suzuki get their bikes noise tested?
With a light crank the Suzuki spins up like a banshee with no hesitation off the throttle, getting indecent drive for a 600, and all the while shrieking through its barely road-legal exhaust. Do Suzuki actually get their bikes noise tested? Because all their sportsbikes sound about 10db noisier and healthier than the competition.
