Essay Help! How to introduce a proof?

QUESTION
Essay Help! How to introduce a proof?
Hi everybody, so for english class we have to write an essay for Macbeth (I’m in grade 11) and well we have quotes from database articles and have to incorporate them into the essay.
Here is an example of my point and then the proof I would like to use:

Point: generally Macbeth is th ultimate cause for the plays chaos because of his strong ambitions to become king and lust for power.

Proof: “he has directed his will to evil, towards something that of its very nature makes for chaos and the abnegation of meaning” (Knights)

So the essay is basically about characters that create chaos and order. My trouble is how to incorporate or introduce a proof from a database source or the actual Macbeth play. What are some tips, transitions that can help with this?

Thank you so much 🙂

It’s due tomorrow or else I would have asked my teacher… so no rude comments please!

ANSWER
Macbeth is the ultimate cause for the chaos in the play because of his strong ambition to become king and because of his lust for power. This is recognised by the knights in the play:
“he has directed his will to evil, towards something that of its very nature makes for chaos and the abnegation of meaning”
Then you analyse the quote and then conclude your point

You should structure the paragraph with a topic sentence it can be pretty simple. Then your next sentence should simply be an introduction to the quote. The most important bit is the analysis after the quote so don’t worry too much about the introduction. As long as what you say is relevant and not too repetitive you will be fine.
