How do I answer the question ,”Why are you interested in the study of medicine?”?
I’m filling out an application and this question is realllyyyy difficult. I want the answer to pertain to the idea of learning the concepts as opposed to helping people? Any thoughts or good ideas? 🙂 thanks!
The key here is to answer genuinely. If you say “I want to go to med school because I want a career where I can help people” you are wasting your time. you can help people in a hundred different careers. Why medicine? Why do you want to sacrifice years of your life and put in all that work? Why not nursing, or beign a firefighter, minister, police officer, missionary, social worker, etc?
I can’t give you that answer, because only you know it, and an essay that is obviously just telling the admissions committee what the applicant thinks they want to hear is just going to get thrown out. look inside and figure out just why it is you want to go, and tell them that.
