How do I cite a quote from a website, from a person, directly in my essay in MLA style?

QUESTION
How do I cite a quote from a website, from a person, directly in my essay in MLA style?
I know how to do it for a book, but what about citing a quote that is from a website, from a person, directly in my essay?

ANSWER
Cite the quote in text like. On (website) John Doe states, “words words, blah blah”. I’m not totally sure about the citation in works cited page, but I use this site all the time and it’s perfect. It does it all for you. www.easybib.com

Ex. On NBC’s website, John Doe states, “The number one reason for the mortgage crisis is that Americans who could never afford the homes they are in now were given those homes ten years ago.”

Then cite the NBC site with article name etc. on your works cited page. Like I said, do easybib.com. You put in all the info you know and it will cite it in MLA style for you. You can even download the file into word and print it.
