how do you refer to an article in an essay?

QUESTION
how do you refer to an article in an essay?
the essay is a reflective essay on business communications which mean i need to prove stud. i have some articles but how so i say in this article it says etc. is there proper way of saying it.

ANSWER
Depends, if its a main reference material you do it in the second to last paragraph, which if needed can be used to name the main info sources.

If it is just a quote you want to reference you use sentences like:

As declared by (NAME), “(your quote)” in his (paper/report/interview etc) (Title or reference work).

If you want extreme detail you can even number paragraphs.

For example (The quote is fake but it is something like his view on his industry)

As declared by Shingeru Miyamoto, president of Nintendo “Video games are too much about time, today we should be developing devices to make them more social to open a wider range of customers and promote social activities though this media” during an interview with a local community paper.

That is incredibly long most likely you will only need 5-10 work quotes, and sorry it was a little off subject but i got an interview video with him about wii fit in my head at the moment. None the less that is how you reference a quote.
