How do you write an argumentative essay that’s under 500 words?
I thought a good argumentative essay should follow the 5 paragraph format, explaining both sides of the argument and why one side is “correct.” How would one approach this under 500 words? I know not to clutter up the essay with meaningless words or facts. thanks for the help!
The five paragraph model is not the best model for an essay. In fact, it is something pretty much exclusively taught in high school. That is nothing like what a true college essay should look like.
You have to be concise, touching all of the biggest aspects of both sides of the argument will explaining and supporting/refuting them. Say what you have to say and only give the information you need to for it to be understandable.
You could try writing a longer version and then summarizing it, bringing out the key points.
