How to improve the content of SAT essays?

QUESTION
How to improve the content of SAT essays?
It has been a long time since I’ve read any books and since I’m on a early holiday I haven’t been able to learn anything recently. I’m pretty scared about the SAT essay just because I won’t have anything to write about. What kind of novels and specifically which novels should I read and what kind of website should I visit to improve the content of my essay?

ANSWER
The SAT does not score you on content knowledge. Read the actual rubric and you’ll see that you’re only graded on the appropriateness of your examples, the amount of detail you can write about them that is relevant to the assignment and your ability to use them to support your argument. Because you’re not scored on content you can even make up ‘facts’ without penalty.

So the best thing to do is to have 4-5 examples at your fingertips. Only use examples that you feel able to explain and clearly support your argument. Don’t BS about stuff you don’t know.

You can get a top score writing about Buffy the Vampire Slayer just as easily as you can with Jane Austin. just make sure that you use your examples in a way that supports your argument.

The same thing applies to SAT subject test essays. There is no expectation of having read any specific books.
