How to write about family values
It is important to mention in a “what is family” essay that the values of people are changing in society in the second half of the twentieth century. The complexity of the transformations and transformations of the family are recognized today. In order to build a successful family, the individual must have reliable information sources and methods of their application.
The problem of a family, as one of the most important social institutions, is the transformation of the ideal created in the family. The fundamental transformation of the image of the family in society took place in the process of the elimination of the old family, which, in turn, led to the emergence of a new family as a independent social institution. In modern reality, there are many families with many children. Emotions are intense. Therefore, the transition from the principle of kinship (as in patriarchal society) to the principle of equality (in the modern family) takes place. The evolution of the family in the evolution of modern society is particularly manifested, in particular, the transformation of the ideal family into the basis of the family, the perception of own personality as a “clean” (the male part of the family as a “good” or “fair” person) instead of having certain prejudices about other people and the world as a whole.
The essence of the transformation of the family, which you should describe in essay on family relationships, is the following: in the period of the optimum organization of the family, the function of the marriage is that the generation sharing the common characteristics of a human (the wife and the children – parts of the family that are most important for personal value of the individual. In the light of the serious economic transformations of society, the family has ceased to be a “fixed” institution. The number of families has increased in the last 30 years, and the time of the marriage is already very long.
In the period of maximum stability of family values, the value of the marital relationship declines significantly. The family becomes especially important as a psychological “shelter” for a person. Moreover, marriage is the personal interaction of partners regulated by moral principles and supported by immanent values. These are the qualities of the most durable family.
Marriage evolves bringing to the forefront the importance of matrimony status as an independent value. The transformation of love into the main motive widens the range of moral requirements of the spouses to each other, increases the expectations. The importance of personal, intimate communication based on respect, attention, care, sense of the value of one’s personality increases.
In the modern form of relationship between a man and a woman, there is a transition from a traditional model to the extreme relational model. The latter implies the dominance of one person over another as the rule over others. A man always remains in his place, but by respecting others, engaging in charity, serving one’s neighborly and charitable foundation, supporting local and global community.
While maintaining equal positions in the family, women reduce the importance of traditional family duties, attach great importance to the household activities of the husband, his authority in the family, and the superiority of the husband over the mother.
The results of female polls paint a different picture: in adolescence, girls of 15-16 years old are inclined to take on all household matters and make minimum demands on their chosen ones. At a more mature age, women believe that both partners should engage in household matters on an equal basis.
Men of 18-20 years old are inclined to take on the professional duties of the husband. The results of male surveys are completely opposite: in adolescence, the requirements for the professional activity of the partner are considerably higher than for women.
Men of 21-30 years old are inclined to take on the professional interests of the partner. At a more mature age, men believe that a woman should have the role of an emotional leader, provide them with moral and emotional support in the right situations. Women are ready to take on some of these issues. But they want the partner to provide them with physical and material goods.
With age, male respondents begin to pay less attention to own appearance and do not try to meet the standards of modern fashion. But the older a man, the more attention he pays to the external features of women, their ability to look beautiful and follow the fashion trends.
The results of female polls are somewhat different: in childhood, girls pay greater attention to their own attractiveness than to the appearance of boys; in adolescence, the requirements for the attractiveness of young men and for their own beauty become equal; and in adulthood, women begin to pay more attention to the appearance of their partner.
It can be stated in a short speech about family that the values of people of different age and sex reflect the specifics of a certain period of life. Nevertheless, they diametrically contradict each other in a number of scales. Obviously, this discrepancy provokes high divorce statistics because of which the disintegration of the family has ceased to be an extraordinary phenomenon.
