How to write about homosexuality
The ancient faithful Jews called homosexuality ” a normal intimate contact”. Soon, the word “homosexuality” began to spread to a distant colony. The English word “homosexuality” is most likely a synonym for “gay”. Since proverbs and treatment of homosexuality were not approved in classical Christianity, and the Church decided to abandon the prohibitions on sexual contact between consenting adults. In 1492, the French philosopher Michel Foucault published a book called “Sexual Structures of the Human Body” in the presence of a devoted defender. The Foucault’s work forced the church to make some concessions on the part of theologians.
Foucault taught that, on the one hand, the male body can’t be healthy, and on the other – that sexuality is a disorder in nature. Having established the thesis that heterosexuality is a biological feature of a human body, Foucault introduced a new principle of orientation (that is, the inclination to sexual relations) into practice. The main goal of his work was to show how it’s possible to fix the natural inclination and to arrange it in the perfect proportion.
Writing his homosexuality paper, note that in his works, Foucault introduced a number of important ideas related to the topic. These were such concepts as ‘primary”, ‘secondary’, “intermediate’, “of intermediate features’, etc. The idea of “primary” was new. Church documents show that in the earliest times, it was perceived as a physical desire, and then – as an attitude. The attitude towards sexual orientation was brutal. The first attempts to create a rooted, natural sexual orientation were rejected. The Church believed that sexual orientation was a personal, if there is no evidence of a cultural heritage among the inhabitants of the New World.
Modern researchers made the following conclusions: in the late XIX century, the identity of the Human Body was more accurately reflected in the structure of the psyche of the average American male than in other men’s preferences. Probably, this fact is due to the atavism of the family, the influence of social traditions on the formation of the personality.
The second change in the perception of homosexuality was made in the second half of the 20th century. The reader of Elton John’s essay on sexual orientation in January 1998 could not help but note that this movement was similar to the trend of the whole evolution of human sexuality. In subsequent decades, the body of men and women began to be divided into homo and heterosexual, and this process began to accelerate. By the end of the twentieth century, the tone of many homo- and heterosexuals has changed. The sacred sexuality of men is called “traditionalism” in the religions of the East, as it is regarded as the complement of the traditional love of women.
Today, many companies provide insurance guarantees for gays and lesbians working for them. In some countries, legal acts are even drawn up for the spouses of gays and lesbians. And the first spouse is not always the husband of the deceased. According to sociologists, there is a less pronounced attitude towards homosexual relationships in the families of heterosexuals, but, nonetheless, the attitude towards the homosexual family is quite equal. Among the respondents of one large homosexual advocacy organization, 95% of gays and lesbians lived with one another in marriage. The results of the study of sexual behavior among gay and lesbians in the traditional and traditionally male roles were completely different: in gay couples income level is of high importance in determining which partner will have the dominant role. Within the same structure, the hierarchy of values often differs for straight men and women.
The hierarchy of values for gay and lesbians in the traditional culture of the first half of the twentieth century was significantly enriched. The values of men and women in traditional culture have changed little since the emergence of the first gay rights movement in the United States. The value of sexual orientation is unambiguity and uniqueness, uncompromising, regardless of the degree of integration and assimilation in social relations. The values of people of sexual orientation are radically transforming. The struggle for the rights of sexual orientation becomes the most effective way out of the international context.
A cultural inclusiveness of sexual orientation leads to the fact that the temptation to sexual relations at young age is stronger than in other periods of culture. The desire for sensual pleasure is stronger than the desire for the biological stimulation of the heart. The person can use this method of arousal repeatedly without conscious orgasm. The repetition gives the user a sexual license to use this method of sexual contact.
The traditional unwillingness to apply the term “homosexuality” provokes the misconception of gay and lesbian identity, which is associated with the history of the phenomenon of sexuality research, the nature of human sexuality, and the possibility of choice.
