  • Society functions through the activity of the family as a social institution – a system of interrelated and mutually beneficial relationships between the members of the community.
  • In the period of the rural development of the US, the number of people employed in agriculture is 10.5 times higher than the number agricultural workers. Non-agricultural industries give the family a big role in the rural economy. Because of the cheapness and the demand for labour, the middle class of the US is one of the most important economic groups in the society.

    In the 1960s, the middle class of the US was divided into the upper and middle classes. The first class consisted of professionals, owners of large enterprises and large corporations. The second class consisted of the managers and makers of various small entrepreneurs. They were attached to the “production pool” (the owners and managers of enterprises, owners of small businesses, etc.). Only the top 1% of Americans belonged to this class.

  • In the late 50s, the middle class of the US was sharply divided into the upper and the lower classes. The latter are considered to have the better education and better financial position than the middle class. For this reason, the middle class was actively pursued by the middle and upper classes. As a result, the middle class became one of the most important economic groups in the economy. And, in the process of economic growth, the social stratification of Americans progressed.
  • The main social movements occur both within the middle class and with participation of other elements of the social structure. Free channel of income is the basis of social mobility. Broad access to the financial market is the guarantee of this.
