QUESTION
I’m a great writer, but i’m panicking about the SAT essay! Suggestions?
I’ve been looking at some past prompts for SAT essays and I’m so scared that when I take the actual test in May, I’ll just totally blank out and fail to think of anything to write before time runs out. Can anyone suggest any tips? I know that, presently, many colleges don’t look into the writing scores of the SAT too much, but I don’t want to do poorly on this part and have it lower my overall score. I really want to get over a 2000! (Preferably over a 2100 so I’ll feel more confident about gaining acceptance at NYU.)
Thanks!

ANSWER
Being a great writer has nothing to do with SAT essays

They’re an abomination of creative writing and just show how fast people can spill out their guts onto paper.

The SAT only tests students on how well they can take the SAT.
So familiarize yourself with how to come at the essays. Do a lot of them, make them long, make them legible, make them deep and riveting, but writing skills learned in english class have no place in these essays.

all you really need is over 2000 to get into NYU
