nice to eat with you: acts of communion? examples?

QUESTION
nice to eat with you: acts of communion? examples?
i need examples of this because i need to do an essay on the symbolism of eating because of the book “how to read literature like a professor” i dont know any examples of this…who knows?

ANSWER
The book “Like Water For Chocolate” is full of examples for this. For example, when the main character’s forbidden lover gives her a rose, she makes a dish with it that incites another character to great passion.

For popular fiction, consider the contrast between eating in the great hall at Hogwarts and eating in the Dursley’s house.

Eating is usually a symbol of where relationships are – lovers share food, loving families have boisterous meals, while cold families have quiet formal meals.
