To get accepted to the university of maryland what is required for a high school student?
Are APs neccessary?
Are are 2 honors classes good enough?
Does it help alot if your parent attended the university?
The University of Maryland looks at the rigor of the high school academic program. AP and honors look good to the university so the more you take, the better it looks. They also look at SAT I and/or ACT scores, class rank (if available), essay, extracurricular activities (leadership positions make you standout), school counselor and teacher recommendations and responses to short answer questions. If your parents graduated from UM, I think it would make a difference of you were borderline in getting accepted.
