An Arlo Smart subscription enables you to record in 2K or 4K video resolution, activate advanced object detection, create cloud activity zones, and much more. You can purchase a plan for multiple cameras, a single camera, or both. This provides a flexible and customizable experience for your Arlo system.
Does Arlo require a monthly fee?
No, you’re not required to sign up for a monthly subscription plan with Arlo. But if you want to expand your coverage, the Arlo Smart plan is $2.99 per month (a three-month free trial is included with purchase), the Premier plan is $9.99 per month, and the Elite plan costs $14.99 per month.

What happens when Arlo is armed?
Armed cameras are set to trigger on motion (and sound, if your Arlo model can detect both motion and sound). Armed cameras record video for 10 seconds by default and automatically send notifications. Disarmed cameras do not trigger on sound or motion. No videos are recorded, and notifications are not sent.
