QUESTION
What do i write for a persuasive essay?
I have to to type a 5 paragraph persuasive essay for someone by tomorrow but the problem is that I have no idea how to write a persuasive essay. The subject is “Some states have now made it illegal to drive while using a hand-held cell phone. Do you agree with this law? Why or why not? Take a position on the issue. Support your reponse with reasons and examples.” I agree with the law but i have no idea how to write the essay

ANSWER
To write a good persuasive essay you have to take one side of an argument or controversy and stick with it. You need to think first of your “thesis” which is what you want to argue is the best side of the controversy. You also need to provide proof (also called concrete details) from legitimate sources that backs up your argument, and then you need to clearly explain how that proof supports your argument.
You’ll also need an intro and a conclusion. In the intro just write about the topic in general and why it’s a controversy. In the conclusion, just sum up all of your evidence to conclude what you are trying to explain to the reader. This is the order it should go in: Intro, Thesis, proof, explanation. Then proof and explanation several times, then conclusion.
