What do you think?
What do you think about gay people? I have nothing against them, this is mainly for an essay I have to write. I just want to know what different people think of them, should this be allowed? Why or why not? I’d like it if I could see every ones point of view. And also, if gay marriage should be allowed, please give a reason to your answer, Thank You!

I support gay marriage.

Many people see marriage as an institution brought about by the church, which has rules against homosexual relationships in general.
However, I see marriage as an institution recognizing at the state and federal level the relationship between two consenting individuals who are merging their family lines. It provides a tax shelter, a formal recognition of the legitimacy of their relationship, beneficiary rights, and the stability of a united couple as the basis or foundation for family (new children). As such, it really doesn’t matter what sex the parties are; man and woman, woman and woman, man and man, it is just a recognition of the legitimacy of their relationship to anyone else.
Many religions and societies do not allow consenting adults to cohabitate or live together without that kind of recognition. I do not believe in ostracizing anyone based on their sexual persuasion or preference, and that means not having a double standard.
My main reason for this belief is that I believe that homosexuality is not a choice, it is the way a person is born. As such, I see it as a trait, fully a part of who a person is. If that is truly the case, then saying two consenting homosexual adults can not hold a recognizable relationship would be no different than saying that two consenting adults of different eye colors could not hold a recognizable relationship.

Thanks for letting me have my two cents moment.
