what is a good way to deal with stress?

QUESTION
what is a good way to deal with stress?
ok well i am 14 years old and i have been getting really stressed out this week
i am in the top class for my year and have been set a whole lot of things that has to be done
i had to do a speech in two days, have a science essay done, try to finish making the cereal box and presentation to go with it, trying to get a go kart made in metal tech, also while trying to have about 3 projects done that are all due start of next week, as well as my friends have been constantly trying to cheat off me and i am starting to get bad grades
i have stopped eating as much and now can’t even stomach breakfast in the mornings, i am constantly tired and have now ended up yelling at my friends for lots of different things
i am also really worried about my grades as they have been slipping dramatically
i was getting 4-5 in all my classes and now im getting 2-3 (new zealand grading, basically i was getting around an A and im around a C- or D in my latest report) i dont see why though cause i have been getting good grades on papers just not in reports

please help me out
(and sorry if this is long)

ANSWER
As a fellow student who has had many difficult and stressful semesters. I would say there are a few key things to keep in mind.

1. Take a big breath and remind yourself that you can only do so much. Try your best, but not to the point where you are not sleeping or causing yourself a lot of grief. Getting the best grade isn’t nearly as important as simply just giving it your best shot.

2. Go for a walk or do something for leisure for at least 30 minutes everyday. This will ease your nerves and allow you to work more productively.

3. Eat healthy foods. Eating donuts and lots of sugars will only cause more stress in the long run…. even though in the short run it can be a comfort.

4. Minimize your social life. Just tell your friends that you are really busy right now and need to spend more time doing your work. The good friends will understand… don’t worry about the rest.

Then… in the future…. take easier classes. It could very well be that your signed up for a class load that is too heavy. Most students at some point will make this mistake.

I wish you all the best. Good luck! And really… everything will be ok. = )
