What is a legal concept for defining marriage as a sexual union. The fact is that the modern society now believes in many states that same-sex marriages are the norm. In the spirit of this interpretation, the term “homosexuality” can be understood as the opposite of “heterosexuality”.

The Family Act of 1961 defines marriage as one of the forms of relationship between a man and a woman concluded in the name of the father, father, or wife, parents of children, and children. Married people are called human beings, and marriage is the relation between the spouses that sustains the natural unity of the family. Through the family, generations replace each other, the dynasties are preserved. Modern researchers study it as a sphere in which personal needs of a person are satisfied most naturally. This understanding allows to formulate and describe their problems in a social context.

The family acts as a cultural community – a group of people which is connected by a certain unity of life priorities, ideas, relationships with society. Since the Lerch and Dibble feminist theory of sexual orientation contended that the family is a “fixed” institution in the system of reciprocal reproduction, the biological basis of sexual orientation is the lack of choice but the ability to produce suitable offspring. Sexual orientation follows from the fact that the child can’t be exclusively attracted. The child is inclined to joint activity. However, the opposite situation is true: in the family, the man can’t be a “servant” (that is, he is attracted by the wife). Modern researchers make the following conclusions: in the vast majority of cases, the motivation for marriage is the desire for the adoption of children by a heterosexual couple, the fulfilment of parental functions, and the distribution of productive time among them. Thus, in modern families, there is a myth of the “bonding factor”. There is an active reorientation to the possibility of sexual relations outside the marriage institution.

Research in the family has always been of particular interest to psychologists, psychiatrists, sociologists, and therapists. This is not surprising, since the personality is formed and develops under the influence of the surrounding environment. Hence, the aberrant behavior of some people can be explained and regarded as a manifestation of the latent homosexual nature. The reader may furthermore think, that homoerotic experience and the desire for sexual contact can be genuine at all times.

The opposite idea is much better to state in the gay marriage essay. The fact is that the phenomenon of marriage is normative in its nature. The formation of the individual in the family is regulated by social norms, and the characteristics of the marriage are regulated by the aim of the marriage. Therefore, the expression “in the family” means the orientation of the couple as a “normal” in the context of the normative spectrum of values.

  • According to marital statistics, of people engaged in marital activities, there are two groups: those who have a predominantly non-traditional and traditional orientation. In the first case, the number of married partners is usually very high. In the second case, the characteristics of spouses can vary for people with non-traditional orientation. Still, the following types of relationships are common:

  • traditional family;
  • a strong family consisting of husband and wife (non-traditional type of family).
  • a relatively small number of partners (although, in the case of same-sex marriages, the number of children is significant).
  • life-shared activities, the majority of which are carried out jointly (work, educational, medical, psychological, marriage, parenting, etc.).
  • motivation for intimate activity (work, educational, other), the impossibility of separate activity, domestic activities, etc.
  • infrequent sex (in most cases, the occurrence of sexual relations outside the marriage institution, provided that the marriage is officially registered.
  • Having reached a certain age, the male partner starts investing funds in the family. The activity of the husband is stimulated by personal needs and wants. The woman is ready to use the services of the household as well as any other options. However, the knowledge of the female character often (but not always) is considered as the result of the male domination.
