What is the basic outline of how to write an argumentative essay?

QUESTION
What is the basic outline of how to write an argumentative essay?
i have to write an argumentative essay for one of my subjects and i cant remember how to do it.

ANSWER
I don’t mean to oversimplify, but this is what always helped me:
Introduction: Tell them in an interesting way, “what you are going to tell them” using a Thesis Statement.

Body: “Tell them.” Should be at least 2-3 paragraphs. Each paragraph should be a strong, detailed reason to support whatever argument you are making (thesis).
Conclusion: “Tell them what you told them.” No new info in this section! Take one summary sentence idea – representing each Body Paragraph and say it in a summarizing statement in the Conclusion. That means your conclusion should be at least 2-4 sentences long…depending on the Body Paragraphs. If it is a strong argument idea, make sure it is in the Body, then you can add it in the Conclusion (said differently).

Good luck on your essay. I hope this helps! (You said ‘basic outline,’ so now I hope you didn’t mean you are being asked for an ‘outline.’ That would be a different answer.
