What is the best way of writing a synthesis essay, while including 2 different texts?
Make sure you do:
A brief introduction to the two texts; who the authors are, and a summary of the texts.
A paragraph about the first text.
A paragraph about the second text.
A comparison of the two, and a conclusion. How are the texts similar? How do they differ? Which text is more effective, and why is the other less so? Or are they both effective, just in different ways? Explain it.
Explore the effect of the language, sentence structure, and punctuation. Explore the writers’ techniques, which may be rhetoric or figurative if it’s creative texts.
Explore the themes, how the text implies the writers’ aims/opinions, if it’s a story. Did the writer want the readers’ views on any matters to change after reading their piece?
