VALETHAMATE BROMIDE belongs to the class of medications called ‘antispasmodic agents’ used in the treatment of pain and spasms (muscle contraction) associated with various conditions such as dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps), postoperative intestinal spasms, visceral spasms (pain due to damage of internal organs).
What is Valethamate bromide?
Valethamate is an anticholinergic medication. It works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine), thereby relaxing the smooth muscles of cervix and intestine.
When should I take Epidosin?
Epidosin Injection is used to treat pain associated with smooth muscle spasms. It may be used in cases of dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation) and for reducing post-operative pain. This injection is also used to reduce the first stage of labor.
Does Drotin cause tachycardia?
Some of them caused side effects due to their anticholinergic properties and others caused tachycardia due to their effect on smooth muscle of vessel walls. Drotaverine is a newer spasmolytic drug which is claimed to reduce the duration of labor by accelerating cervical dilatation without causing side effects.

Following intravenous administration of oxytocin, uterine response occurs almost immediately and subsides within 1 hour. Following intramuscular injection of the drug, uterine response occurs within 3 to 5 minutes and persists for 2 to 3 hours.
