What Tivar 1000?
About TIVAR® 1000 TIVAR® 1000 offers a unique combination of wear and corrosion resistance, low friction surface and impact strength. This material is resistant to chemical attack and moisture absorption, and retains key physical properties to -22° F. This material is FDA, USDA and 3A Dairy compliant.
What is Tivar UHMW?
TIVAR® Premium UHMW Polyethylene is an ultra high molecular weight polyethylene known for its wear and corrosion resistance, self-lubrication, low coefficient of friction, and impact strength. It is lightweight and outperforms stainless steel, weighing only 1/8 as much.
What material is Tivar?
TIVAR® Ceram P is composed of virgin polymer and premium additives, making it a shatter-resistant alternative to ceramics and is noted for its dimensional stability. It is suited for high-speed, high-load, and sliding-abrasion applications and can outwear AR steel, virgin UHMW, and other materials.
Who manufactures Tivar?
Alro Plastics Product: TIVAR® 1000 UHMW.
What is Tivar hot?
Tivar HOT is a unique UHMW grade that has a dramatically higher continuous operating temperature (275F) than standard UHMW. Tivar HOT still has excellent wear and abrasion resistance, doesn’t absorb moisture, has excellent chemical resistance and meets FDA, USDA and 3A guidelines.
Is Delrin harder than UHMW?
UHMW has surface and chemical properties that are rare to find in high-performance polymers. It is very resistant to most chemicals, UV radiation, and micro-organisms, but doesn’t have the same creep resistance as Delrin.
What is Tivar eco plate?
UHMW TIVAR® ECO is plastic material suitable for machinery components, wear plates and guides. Depending on the application, UHMW ECO has an overall lower mechanical strength (90%) than the virgin TIVAR® 1000. This grade, partially composed of reprocessed PE-UHMW material can be machined easily. Black marble color.
Is Tivar anti static?
Tivar® 1000 Antistatic By incorporating an effective carbon black grade, TIVAR 1000 antistatic offers the electrostatic dissipative properties often required for PE-UHMW components operating at high line speeds and conveying rates, maintaining the inherent key characteristics of UHMW-PE.
Is UHMW FDA approved?
Yes, UHMW-PE is both FDA and USDA approved for use in food processing and medical applications.
How much does a sheet of UHMW cost?
UHMW – Machinable Thermoplastic Widely Used For Industrial Application. From $6.99 per sq. ft.
What is stronger than UHMW?
HDPE is used in a variety of applications and industries where impact resistance, high tensile strength, low moisture absorption and chemical and corrosion resistance properties are required. In terms of machining, HDPE finishes a little better than UHMW, although both materials machine well.
Is UHMW toxic?
UHMW plastic is, of course, a plastic, but it’s under a special type of building thermoplastics that makes it perfect for a variety of uses. As a material, it’s non-toxic, abrasion resistant, odorless, tasteless, and is chemically resistant to many acids and bases.
