when is a good time to be looking into scholarships?
like how do you know when your ready to look for scholarships junior year or senior year and what are some good ways to get a scholarship
The earlier, the better. As a junior I decided upon the University that I wanted to attend, and also started into talks with my counselor about what kind of coursework, extracurricular activities, etc.. during my senior year would be good for getting in. I was accepted August of my senior year, and with the assistance of my school counselor (truly an asset as they have a great knowledge of what is available) I began submitting essays and the like to several different outlets. If your counselor is unable to assist you, there are books, such as “The Ultimate Scholarship Book” and “Kaplan Scholarship Book” that will offer great advice as to what scholarships are available and when. Whatever you do though, DON’T PUT IT OFF!!
