Would University of Chicago take a 26 ACT score?
I really want to go to the University of Chicago. I just got my ACT score, I got a 26. Do you think they’ll take that score when I apply or should I take it again?
Most students in the last year’s freshman class had an ACT score of 27 – 30. It’s your choice, but unless the rest of your academics, essays, and extracurriculars are EXCELLENT, UChicago is a really tough school to get into and you might not make the cut.
That said, you can take the ACT as many times as you like and only send your highest score, so there’s really no reason for you NOT to take it again. Take it twice or thrice more, even, if you can afford the fee. And just send your highest score. The worst thing that can happen is that you’ll do worse and have to send in a 26 anyway, so why not?
