How do I access my UCL Library?
Simply enter your UCL userid and password in the boxes to access the resource. Many of our contracts permit limited use by members of UCL Library Services who are not current staff or students of UCL (eg NHS personnel; alumni; retired staff; external members).
Can the public use UCL Library?
Qualifying UCL alumni and visitors can use UCL libraries, but must complete an online registration form before visiting.
Can UCL alumni use the library?
We allow UCL alumni and qualifying visitors to visit our libraries. All applicants must complete an online registration form and have received an email confirming their Library membership before arriving at the Library to collect a library card.
Can LSE students use UCL Library?
As there are separate sections of the library for different subjects – you can enter other libraries that are still in the same building to get a change in environment. To get a UCL library pass, you simply have to go online and submit a photo of yourself and proof that you are a LSE student.
Can QMUL students use UCL Library?
students and staff can apply for borrowing access from QMW library under the SCONUL Access Band ‘A’ scheme upon production of a passport sized photograph, full valid UCL ID and a SCONUL Access Band ‘A’ card (obtained through UCL library).
Can Birkbeck students use UCL Library?
University College London (UCL) library: Birkbeck undergraduate and postgraduate students can register to use UCL Library between 9.30am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 5pm on Friday. Please get your Programme Enrolment Certificate printed via the My Birkbeck Centre before visiting.
Is UCL open to the public?
You are welcome to visit UCL on any weekday between 10am–4pm. You are welcome to visit UCL on any weekday between 10am–4pm and follow our self-guided tour. Prospectuses and copies of the self-guided tour booklet are available from the Front Lodge on the right-hand side of the UCL gates on Gower Street (WC1E 6BT).
Can SOAS students use UCL Library?
A special arrangement between UCL and SOAS allows members library privileges over and above those usually offered between University of London institutions. Undergraduates cannot borrow from SOAS but can obtain long-term reference access throughout the academic year. Taught postgraduates can borrow up to three books.
Can UCL students use Birkbeck library?
UCL undergraduates can apply online for reference-only access to Birkbeck library upon production of a full and valid UCL ID card.
Is Birkbeck library open to public?
Birkbeck staff and enrolled students can visit the Library, borrow materials and access all digital resources. Alumni and other members of Birkbeck can visit the Library and may borrow materials, but you will have limited access to digital resources.
Can Birkbeck students use SOAS library?
School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) library: you need to join the SCONUL Access Scheme before visiting SOAS Library. If you are not eligible to join SCONUL, you will need to complete a Confirmation of Status form and take it to Birkbeck Library for authorisation.
Can you walk around universities?
You are free to walk around public colleges and universities. Public colleges will even have events that are open to the public. However, private universities have the right to ask you to leave.
