Are all GU gels vegan?
GU Roctane Energy Gel and GU Recovery Drink include ingredients that are not vegan. We are working hard to update our formulations across the board to balance sustainability with performance. We aim to make all of our products as sustainable as possible, while not compromising athletic performance.
Are GU gels dairy free?
GU Energy Gels are gluten-free, dairy-free, and they provide maximum fuel and recovery for all types of athletes.
Does GU help with running?
Although energy gels aren’t a direct replacement as you can’t control which muscles the glucose goes to, they do help continue to fuel your run. Energy gels contain about 25g of carbohydrates per gel, in the form of simple sugars, an accessible energy source for your body to process.
Is SiS vegan?

Can I take an energy gel before a run?
Energy gels should be taken just before or during exercise. They work by immediately raising your blood sugar level. If you are not exercising, the body will release insulin and convert into long term stores (glycogen) actually leading to lower blood sugar levels.
Are GU Energy Chews vegan?
GU Energy Gels and ROCTANE Energy Gels are both kosher certified, gluten-free and vegan-friendly.
Are GU Stroopwafels vegan?
All Stroopwafel flavors are certified kosher, as well. All flavors are, however, made with organic eggs, so they are not vegan-friendly.
When should you eat a GU on a run?
For runs over 60 minutes, you need to bring fuel along with you. We recommend eating one Energy Gel or four Energy Chews every 45 minutes along the way.
Do you need gels for 5K?
Final fuel for a 5K is not generally necessary. However, if you race longer distances and want a final boost, take ½–1 gel or a few crackers 10 minutes before the gun goes off. During-race fuel is generally unnecessary.
