Are FURminator brushes good for cats?
The FURminator for cats is not for all cats. Due to their coat types, The FURminator cat deshedding tool is not recommended for use on the following breeds: Balinese.
How do you use a FURminator short haired cat?
Use the undercoat deShedding tool much like a brush, gently stroking across the pet’s coat in the direction of hair growth, angling the stainless steel teeth towards the coat. Start from your pet’s head and work your way back, using extra care near the stomach, legs, genitals, and anus.
Will my cat’s undercoat grow back?
When we shave this coat, the undercoat grows back rapidly but the guard hairs do not, leaving the undercoat to take over as the main coat. This wooly and dense coat will trap heat and will not reflect the sunlight, thus making your pet warmer and raising their body temperature in the heat.
Will my cats undercoat grow back?
The good news is that fur grows back! If it doesn’t it may be a good idea to check with the vet, and in that case, the Furminator could have tipped you off to a health issue. If there were no guard hairs to start with in those spots, you may want to call the vet now.
