Can Danish oil be used on worktops?
Danish oil is a mixture of tung oil and other vegetable oils that can be used to treat wood and keep it looking great for longer. In fact, it is so effective at treating wooden worktops that we have introduced our own special blend -Worktop Express Danish oil for worktops.
What is the best oil to use on worktops?
Linseed or Tung Oil Pure linseed oil or tung oil are better suited for treating hardwood worktops as they penetrate timber more effectively than other natural oils. Though it may take a long time, these rub-in oils will naturally dry or cure on their own.
Does Danish oil darken oak worktop?

How long does Danish oil finish last?
Gloss oil-based varnish, polyurethane and Danish oil can last 10 or 20 years, though satin finishes and stains may fail sooner as pigments and flattening agents disable the driers. Water-based coatings and paints can also be viable longer than three years. Shellac, though, can go bad in under a year.
How do you use Liberon oil?
Apply a coat of Finishing Oil using a brush or lint-free cotton cloth. Allow the oil to penetrate for up to 10 minutes then wipe off all the excess with a clean lint-free cloth, before the surface dries enough to become sticky. Allow to dry for a minimum of five hours and apply more coats as required.
Is Liberon finishing oil food Safe?
It is also food safe and safe for toys. Liberon Finishing Oil will give good resistance against water, alcohol and food acid marks and will give a matt to satin finish dependent upon the number of coats. A gloss can be achieved by applying a paste wax on the sealed surface.
Is Danish oil good for Oak?
It provides excellent water resistance, helping to prevent the oak from staining and reduces marks on the surface, making the oak easier to clean and maintain. Danish Oil is completely non-toxic and food safe when dry which means in can be used on all oak items and in all environments.
