The GMC and Chevy Duramax pick-up trucks do NOT have a lift pump to supply fuel to the engine. From the factory, the CP3 injection pump is the truck’s only means of getting fuel from the tank to the engine.

Diesel fuel is notorious about entrapping air in the fuel. I would agree that an overpowered lift pump will cause 1/4 tank issues from sucking the fuel out of the sump bowl but you don’t think that the fuel sloshing around in a non baffled fuel tank is not going to entrap air?
