the 3ds support will stop once the game developers are losing money from developing games for the 3ds/new 3ds. and once the Switch is printing more money than the 3ds/new 3ds. I think development stops BEFORE they lose money. Nintendo is not a losing money kind of company, at least not with their eyes open to it.
