Why does my PICC line keep bleeding?

The dressing must be changed if it gets wet but please check with your doctor or nurse to be sure it is okay to take a shower. The catheter will be removed when the IV therapy is completed or if there is a problem with the catheter.
Why would a midline leak?
Sometimes connections are loose and your midline might leak. Sometimes, a midline will leak where it goes into the skin. If your midline is leaking, tell the nurse so it can be fixed. If you see blood in the tubing, this is not a problem at all, but it will need to be flushed back into the vein with a flush syringe.
When do you change PICC line dressing after insertion?

You will be able to bend and use your arm as normal while the PICC is in place, but you will need to follow some precautions to ensure your PICC stays in place and functions well. Do not carry heavy weights (more than 5lbs). Do not exercise vigorously with your arm while the PICC is in place.
What can you not do with a PICC line?
Having a PICC should not keep you from doing your normal activities, such as work, school, sexual activity, showering, and mild exercise. Avoid contact sports, such as football and soccer, while your PICC is in place. Ask your doctor or nurse about any activities before you start them.
