The Wet Clutch systems in our DSG transmissions soak up a lot of the “slack” with ease compared to a dry clutch. They’re not bullet-proof but being submerged in lubrication fluid helps. That is too funny. If you could somehow never have to take off from a stop a clutch would last about a million miles even with down shifting.
