The Eight Melodies are several melodic fragments found in EarthBound Beginnings and EarthBound. When combined, these fragments create tunes that serve as important plot devices in each game.

Laura is a character in Mother, being a canary. She resides in the northern portion of Canary Village, just outside of the brick wall surrounding the village, and can only be reached by going through a hidden entrance behind the only silver-colored spire.

In the fan community, Ninten is usually depicted with a bandana around his neck and with more variety in the coloring of his shirt, in order to distinguish him from Ness, which is due to his appearance in a Japanese commercial for Mother[1] where these features were added.
Why does Ninten have asthma?
Asthma will cause Ninten, the only playable character in the game who can be affected by the ailment, to miss turns while in combat. It is only caused by certain attacks used by the vehicular enemies around Merrysville (Thanksgiving), and only lasts for the duration of the current battle.
