There is in fact a real place named Kingsport in Nova Scotia, but it is a much smaller seaside village. The stories set at Summerside, Prince Edward Island, in Anne of Windy Poplars were relocated to Kingsport, New Brunswick, in the film Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel (1987).
