What causes elevated levels of Alt and AST?

Consume plenty of fresh and whole fruits and vegetables (19) (a rich source of antioxidative vitamins like B carotene and Vitamins C&E)

Avoid refined carbohydrates (bread,pasta,bagels,etc.)

Avoid refined sugars (especially sugary drinks such as flavored coffee,and sodas)

Avoid alcohol 100%

Avoid fast food

What are dangerous Alt and AST levels?

AST and ALT serum levels in some liver conditions can range anywhere from ten times the upper limits of normal to thousands of units/liter. The highest levels of AST and ALT are found with disorders that cause rapid death of numerous liver cells (extensive hepatic necrosis).

What does an elevated AST mean?

High levels of AST in the blood may indicate hepatitis, cirrhosis, mononucleosis, or other liver diseases. High AST levels can also indicate heart problems or pancreatitis. If your results are not in the normal range, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have a medical condition needing treatment.
